Board Highlights
Elections for the 2015 KIA Board of Directors will be held now through December 24th. Please click here for the Ballot. KIA members can vote by completing the ballot and faxing to 235-3650, emailing to sgoyallc@aol.com, or mailing to P. O. Box 3776, Honolulu, HI 96812. Announcement of Directors and Officers will be made in January 2015.
The annual membership dues have not changed since the Kakaako Improvement Association was formed in 1987. In order to continue to run the association with our Executive Director, monthly newsletter, two General Membership Meetings and two KIA Networking Events, the KIA Board has approved to increase the annual dues to $75 for companies of less than 19 employees, $150 for companies with 20 to 49 employees, and $200 for companies with more than 50 employees.
KIA Annual Dues
The Annual Renewal Form will be emailed to those KIA members whose membership dues will run through 2015. The KIA Board appreciate the continued association of all its members and will remain the constant information source for anything happening within Kakaako. The monthly newsletter has been a consistent communication piece to all KIA members, filled with timely and information articles. The General Membership Meetings are always informative and gives members a chance to meet or reconnect with fellow members. The KIA Networking Events bring members together to meet on a one-on-one basis to learn about each other. The connection that KIA has with HCDA is very strong as they continue to keep KIA in the loop of what they are doing on a regular basis. All KIA members are urged to give input, ask questions, and offer added information to make the value of being a KIA member a plus; i.e. any notices that members have about their own company.
Save These 2015 Dates
The four KIA events for 2015 have been confirmed, so mark your calendars for Wednesdays, January 28th and August 26th for the KIA General Membership Meetings. The KIA Networking Events will be held on Wednesdays, April 15th and October 28th.
All events will be held at one of KIA’s longtime members, the Honolulu Design Center’s Cupola Room. Lunch will be provided at the General Membership Meetings and KIA members will “brown bag” their lunches at the two KIA Networking Events. These are good opportunities for KIA members to meet and connect with fellow members, as well as learn from speakers and each other about what’s going on in Kakaako.
