WCIT Architecture is an architecture, interior design, planning, environmental graphics, and design practice that was founded in 2000 in Kakaˈako. Our work is wide ranging, but rooted in pstorytelling and integrating culture, community, local values, and a sense of innovation, craft, and hospitality into every project, whether commercial, residential, educational, healthcare, or public and community-based design and development. Within Kakaˈako in recent years we’ve worked on Nohona Hale, Waiea, Nobu, Blaisdell, Kakaako Makai, Ward Village and Kakaˈako West masterplans. Our passion for community engagement and activating public spaces expands outside of the office with our non-profit Malama Kipuka Hawaiˈi, which has worked to clean-up, maintain, activate, and beautify Mother Waldron Park, Cooke Street, Kakaˈako mini park and nearby Cartwright Neighborhood Park.

Special Announcement

Those attending the KIA Networking Event in October were the first to know of the upcoming KIA Membership Directory for 2023-2025.  The last “printed” directory was for 2013-2015, when the KIA website (www.kia-hawaii.org) was in full swing.  The purpose of a printed directory is three-fold:  (1) KIA members will be listed for fellow members to contact when products or services are needed, (2) distribution to be to all KIA members for their staff and/or clients to use and (3) copies will be distributed to non-KIA businesses and residents in Kakaako to seek and use KIA members.

The only way the directory can be produced is through paid advertisements.  In the past, ALL directories did not cost KIA a penny, since the layout, printing, postage, distribution, etc. was covered by ad sales. The directory will be printed in full color and be 5-1/2” wide by 8-1/2” high, stapled at the side.  There will be only three sizes of ads being accepted: full page, half page and quarter page.  Only KIA members may place an ad.  Anyone interested in making a commitment to submit an ad can do so any time from now until March 6, 2023, although space will be limited.  The ad form will be placed in the KIA December newsletter but email commitments will be accepted.
