KIA News

The KIA Board of Directors hopes that everyone is taking care of themselves, family, friends, and clients in the best way possible. Keep listening to the radio or watching TV for the most updated information and share with your family and friends who may need reinforcement. Continue to support those who offer take-out or delivery services for food or products you need; and shop as you usually do without panicking. Lastly, keep in communication with others, via emailing, texting, or calling, so that life will have some sense of stability.

Acting with an abundance of caution to protect the health of employees, visitors and the community at large, the Hawaii Children's Discovery Center has decided to close to the public from March 15th until further notice.

KIA's Networking Event set for Wednesday, April 29th, has been cancelled until the regularly-scheduled October 21st KIA Networking Event.

The John A. Burns School of Medicine (JABSOM) annulled that those who were invited to pay their respects at the Willed Body Memorial Service on April 4, 2020, will not be able to attend the event in person because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Those who have received invitations will have to forego attending the memorial in person, as well as their friends and family. Last year there were more than 900 people in attendance at Wallace Rider Farrington High School in Kalihi. JABSOM will livestream the event via the link provided to families and friends.  For more information:

Attached to this month's issue is the one-page registration form for sponsors and golfers for the KIA Invitationsl Golf Tournament which will be held at the Hawaii Prince Golf Club on Friday, August 21st from 11am. Lunch will be provided as well as dinner and awards. The beneficiary of this year's golf tournament is the KCAA Muriel Preschool, located in Kakaako. Proceeds will be used for renovations and improvements to their outdoor space, and they're hoping to create an entryway on the Queen Street side for access to the school in the near future.

Sponsorships for this tournament are Platinum at $5,000; Gold at $3,000; Silver at $1,500; and Tee at $600. Anyone wishing to have a three-person team to golf on August 21st is $495. The platinum includes three teams, while the Gold, Silver and Tee sponsors include one team of three golfers.

Mahalo for Kamehameha Schools for being the first Gold sponsor, which includes three gofers. The KIA Board of Directors will be making their commitment by the next KIA newsletter, and there is hope that other companies will join in as sponsors or golfers, whether a KIA member or not. Please use the one-page registration form to pass along to fellow golfers and anyone who would like to support KIA and/or assist KCAA Muriel Preschool with their goals.
